Important Rules

Getting Started

In Game Tips

  • Getting food: Talk to a saloon worker in town or speak with some Rainbow County residents.
  • Clean water: Go to a General Store to purchase clean water or talk to some Rainbow County residents.
  • Owning a horse: Buy a horse from your local horse trainer or, if needed, right from the stables.
  • Learn your telegram number: Go to any post office booth and open the mailbox. Observe two capital letters and three numbers in the bottom-left. Please note: Telegram numbers are very case sensitive.
  • Publish your telegram number: Near any post office, find a Telegram Directory. Check the box in the bottom-right to opt-in to the directory. When you send a telegram, be sure to include your own telegram number so the receiver can write you back.
  • Guns and their maintenance: Guns can slowly deteriorate without maintenance with gun oil. Talk to a gunsmith character or some Rainbow County residents.
  • Wagons: Keep to a medium pace to prevent wheels from falling off.
  • Standard game time is 30:1, meaning:
    – 60 in-game seconds = 2 IRL seconds
    – 24 in-game hours = 0.8 IRL hours

Quick Cash

  • Delivery Missions: Find a box icon on the map located near some cities. You have to beat the clock to deliver goods, without crashing the wagon. (Be advised: some
missions are more difficult and riskier than others.)
  • Butcher: Find a cleaver icon on the map in most cities. Sell hunted animal parts here for profit. Please note, not all animal parts will be sold. You cannot sell the entire physical body. Leave the body.
  • Fisher/Trapper Market: Find a paw print icon  on the map in most cities. Sell trapped animals and/or caught fish here.

Things to Do

  • Hunting: Buy a bow and arrows from a gunsmith store. Shoot animals, then use your knife to skin them for parts to sell to the Butcher (see above). Alternately, some saloons will buy some parts for higher prices.
  • Mining: Find a “Ma” (“mining area”) icon on the map near mountains. Open your inventory, “Use” your pickaxe, then walk around and find yellow circular markers, which represent mining nodes. Mined materials can be sold to blacksmith characters, gunsmith characters, etc.
  • Gold panning: Buy a gold pan from any General Store, then head to bodies of water. Open your inventory and “Use” your gold pan. Please note, some bodies of water are richer in gold than others. Gold can be sold like mined items (above), or ask a resident about smelting.
  • Fishing: Buy a fishing rod from a gunsmith store, and a Fisher’s Guide from a General Store. Look for bubbles in any body of water. Any bait can catch any fish. Sell the caught fish at a Fisher/Trapper Market.
  • Trapping: Buy a trap from a Fisher/Trapper Market, and a Trapper’s Guide from a General Store. Animals live in certain areas and are particular about bait. Sell the trapped animals at a Fisher/Trapper Market.
  • Farming: Find a leaf icon on the map located near most cities. Buy seeds here. Then, find a pitchfork icon on the map. There, open your inventory, and “Use” the seed. Plants can be improved with water (from rain or a watering can) or fertilizer. Ripe items can be sold to saloon workers, or some can be eaten yourself.
  • Lumbering: Near some trees, look for a “Chop” prompt. Collected items can be sold to various business owners, train workers, and naturalists.

Job Opportunities

  • Review job opportunities and ideas here (not an exhaustive list).
  • A player must have been playing on the server for 7 days before getting a new job at an existing business (e.g. Saloon Worker, LEO recruit).
  • A player must have been playing on the server for 30 days prior to inquiring about a business proposal.
  • If an individual has a Patreon tier and/or has an apprenticeship with a business owner, they can have their required amount of time in the Homelands decreased.
  • Government and/or finite jobs are technically restricted in a way that only allows one job to be assigned per character (e.g. you cannot be a saloon owner and a naturalist at the same time).
  • Government and/or finite jobs may offer apprenticeships to their standards to prepare you for your career. This allows you to receive experience and a character reference, increasing your chances for your business proposal to be accepted by the government.
  • You can submit a business proposal here.
  • You can apply for a business loan here
  • Remember: If you can roleplay it; it is a job.
